Our Trip to Brunner Mine 2019

                   Our trip to brunner mine
Yesterday our class went to Brunner Mine for the day. We learnt about when the big Brunner Mine disaster happened. I now know that 65 people died that day and a lot of family's dads, sons and uncles died that day. The youngest was only 15 years old and the oldest was 72 years old.  One of the people that died that day was not even meant to work and he had about 11 kids at home  so he wanted to work so he could feed them.

After we learnt about the facts we  did a little play and we had to pretend that we were in class and we heard the explosion. We ran to the window and the teacher ran to the mine to see what had happened.

Then we had our lunch. After  lunch we went to the graveyard where most of the men got buried.  There was 33 people that got buried in a big grave all together to be with their friends.

Here is some photos of our trip.

  1. Hi Ryah, Thanks for sharing your reflection of our class trip to the Brunner Mine Site. I like how you have shared the purpose for our visit and some of the information you learnt there. My favourite activity was when you dressed up and posed for photos. I was impressed with your ability to take on the emotions of the character you were playing. What was your favourite part of the trip and why?
