Avatar art

Hello! We have been finishing off our art work for a couple of weeks now and we are all done, finally. To make the artwork we had to go on our chromebook and design our own avatar on a web site. You had to make yourself on there and then enlarge it on to your piece of paper with pencil. We then went over the pencil with vivid and then we decided to paint it. On the weekend our teacher put them on the wall. They looked really cool until they started falling down now there is only half of the class still on the wall and the rest is on the teachers table  waiting to get put back up.   Here is a photo of my art work that I did. Our Trip to Brunner Mine 2019

                   Our trip to brunner mine 
Yesterday our class went to Brunner Mine for the day. We learnt about when the big Brunner Mine disaster happened. I now know that 65 people died that day and a lot of family's dads, sons and uncles died that day. The youngest was only 15 years old and the oldest was 72 years old.  One of the people that died that day was not even meant to work and he had about 11 kids at home  so he wanted to work so he could feed them. 


After we learnt about the facts we  did a little play and we had to pretend that we were in class and we heard the explosion. We ran to the window and the teacher ran to the mine to see what had happened. 

Then we had our lunch. After  lunch we went to the graveyard where most of the men got buried.  There was 33 people that got buried in a big grave all together to be with their friends.

lucky unlucky

Today I have decided to make an lucky unlucky story  this another task for weekly blogging go check out my last blog post on my mystery object.   

I"m going get a cake for my birthday lucky they had the one that I wanted unlucky the shop was just closing lucky the lady let me in unlucky they had no candles to put on the cake lucky  the candle shop was open down the street  unlucky the shop only had boy candles left lucky the lady found some girls one for me to buy unlucky I had no money left to buy them lucky the lady said that I can give her the money tomorrow and take them now unlucky The End thanks for reading.        

The Mines Afire Prediction

Hello, Today we got some questions to answer about the book called The Mines Afire before we start reading it. On Monday we are going on a school trip to where the fire actually happened in Brunnerton that is about 7 minutes away from our school.  I am really looking forward to going there and learning a lot more about it than I will make another blog post about it when I get back  so I can teach you a bit about the mine.  

If you don't  know I can tell you a bit that I know now. 
There was a big fire in Brunnerton Mine in 1896 and about 62 people died in that mine that day and the youngest person was only 16 who died and the oldest person was about 72 years old. Every body  that was working  that day died  in the mine.

Whats been in the new this week

           Which volcano added around 875 acres                                          of new 
                     volcano land to hawaii. 

Is Kilauea still erupting?

The Kilauea volcano first began erupting in 1983, and has since been ejecting lava on and off for decades.

Activity at the volcano never truly stopped, as the volcano will still be active weak flows of lava will still be coming out of the volcano , but these are not major enough to be called an eruption.

One of the house's near the volcano is going to be full of lava by the looks of thes photo. 

What has been in the news this week?

What company has released a tablet that can fold in the middle? 

This week we did a weekly news quiz and one of the question  was What company  has released a tablet that can fold in the middle. My group  got this one right and it is Samsung.  

I think that it is a really cool idea and I  also think that a lot more companies will steal this idea and make some of their own ones. 

What do you think about this new tablet ??? 

I think it is really cool, I would love to have one but I think they would be really expensive.
